BNSF Railway in Glacier National Park

Friday, 7:30am, phone rings. After small talk about how sharp I can make an image of a train my client asks if it would be a good weekend to head to Glacier National Park to chase trains. Of course it is, it's only Mother's Day weekend and my mom is visiting from Indy. She understands, her son is a location photographer: go whenever, wherever, especially to shoot trains. By 10am we've confirmed it's a go, there is one flight from Seattle to Whitefish, Montana today and it leaves at 12:15. Flight booked, cameras packed, a few clothes thrown in and of course my BNSF hard hat and orange vest and I'm on my way to the airport. TSA was smooth, down the concourse as my flight is called and walk right on. It's going to be a golden weekend!
The length of road from West Glacier to East is about 55 miles, by the end of the weekend I'll have driven some 850 miles chasing trains back and forth. Totally worth the effort. Client was thrilled with the amount of imagery I brought back and getting the moose in the meadow at the pass was a highlight!
